Tanzania has been selected as the host nation for the 2025 East African Petroleum Conference (EAPC), showcasing the country’s growing importance in the petroleum sector. The significant decision was made during the 9th edition of the East African Petroleum Conference, held recently in Kenya.

Known for its active contribution to the global petroleum industry, the East African region routinely convenes the EAPC. It serves as a significant platform for regional governments, national oil corporations, and international stakeholders to deliberate and exchange insights on the range of activities associated with oil and gas exploration and production.

The principal theme for the 2025 EAPC will be “Inclusive and Sustainable Growth of the Oil and Gas Sector in East Africa.” The theme highlights the shift toward incorporating sustainability and inclusivity into the growth strategies of petroleum industries.

Aside from facilitating discussions about the emerging trends, challenges, and innovations relevant to the oil and gas sector, the conference is expected to enhance Tanzania’s visibility in the global petroleum industry. The choice of Tanzania as the host nation signifies the recognition of its burgeoning role in the region’s oil and gas segment.

Moreover, it is anticipated that by hosting the prominent conference, Tanzania will benefit from augmented investment, technology transfer, and capacity development in the oil and gas sector. The event could also foster regional integration and partnerships, contributing to the overall growth and development of Tanzania’s economy and the wider East African region.

The East African Petroleum Conference is a biennial gathering involving an array of stakeholders from the region and further afield. Its platform offers crucial opportunities for networking, investment discussions, policy dialogue, and peer learning among industry stakeholders to stimulate growth in the oil and gas sector.

More details regarding the precise date, venue, and program for the 2025 East African Petroleum Conference in Tanzania will be revealed in due course. Until then, preparations are expected to intensify, ensuring Tanzania’s ability to host a successful, impactful, and rewarding conference.
