The most significant impact has been shouldered by Dar es Salaam, the commercial hub and most populous city of Tanzania.
The network infrastructure theft in the East African nation has been escalating in recent years, undercutting a nation otherwise enjoying a burgeoning digital economy and a steady growth in internet users.
In an effort to address these network disruptions, plans are being put into action to boost the resilience of the country’s internet infrastructure. Responding to these measures, a TCRA spokesperson stated that “Improving the state of our network cables across Tanzania will significantly lessen the chances of internet downtimes.
